AI Generation Overview

FormRobin uses AI to help you create forms quickly by describing what you need in plain language. Your AI generation quota depends on your plan:

Free Plan: 2 AI form generations per month
Individual Tier: 50 AI form generations per month

How AI Generations Work

Each time you use the AI form builder to create a new form, it counts as one generation. This includes:

Creating a form from an AI prompt
Regenerating or revising an AI-created form

Note: Manually editing an AI-generated form after creation does not count toward your quota.

Monthly Quota Reset

Reset Date: Your quota resets on the 1st of each month at 12:00 AM UTC
No Rollover: Unused generations do not carry over to the next month
Automatic Renewal: Your full quota is restored each month automatically

How to Check Your Remaining Quota

Log in to your FormRobin account
Click Create Form
Select Generate with AI
Your remaining generations are displayed at the top: "X AI generations remaining this month"

Tips to Maximize Your AI Generations

Be Specific: Detailed prompts produce better results on the first try
Review Before Generating: Plan your form requirements before using AI
Edit Manually: Make small changes manually after generation to save quota
Duplicate Forms: Copy and modify existing AI-generated forms instead of creating new ones
Use Templates: Start with manual creation for simple forms; save AI for complex workflows

Increasing Your Quota

If you frequently run out of AI generations:

Upgrade to Individual Tier: Get 50 generations per month (vs 2 on Free Plan)
Plan Ahead: Space out your AI form creations throughout the month
Combine with Manual Creation: Use AI for complex forms, manual for simple ones

The Individual Tier plan provides 25x more AI generations, ideal for agencies or power users.

What Happens When You Reach Your Limit

When you've used all your AI generations:

The Generate with AI button will be disabled
You'll see a message: "You've reached your monthly AI generation limit"
You can still create forms manually using the form builder
Your quota will reset automatically on the 1st of next month

Note: All your existing forms continue to work normally. The limit only affects creating new AI-generated forms.

Troubleshooting

Issue: The AI generation button is grayed out.

Fix: You've reached your monthly limit. Check your quota by clicking Create Form ➜ Generate with AI. Your quota resets on the 1st of each month, or upgrade to Individual Tier for 50 generations/month.

Issue: I only have 2 AI generations but I need more.

Fix: The Free Plan includes 2 AI generations per month. Upgrade to the Individual Tier to get 50 generations/month. Alternatively, create forms manually or duplicate existing AI-generated forms.

Issue: My quota didn't reset on the 1st of the month.

Fix: The reset occurs at 12:00 AM UTC on the 1st. Check your timezone - the reset might happen during your previous day or next day depending on your location. If it's past the reset time and your quota hasn't renewed, contact support.

FAQ

Q: Do edits to AI-generated forms count toward my quota?

A: No. Only the initial AI generation (and any regenerations) count. Manual edits afterward are unlimited.

Q: Can I save unused generations for next month?

A: No. Unused generations do not roll over. Your quota resets to the full amount on the 1st of each month.

Q: Does duplicating an AI-generated form use a generation?

A: No. Duplicating forms (whether AI-generated or manual) does not count toward your AI quota. This is a great way to reuse form structures.

Q: How do I know if I'm about to run out?

A: Your remaining quota is always displayed when you click Generate with AI. It shows "X AI generations remaining this month" at the top of the AI builder.
